RESET FORGOTTEN WINDOWS 7 AND VISTA PASSWORD

Forgotten windows 7 password is one the most common problem most people came across. There are more than a thousand guides to restore it back without knowing current password. But most of them either did'nt work work for you or having a too much complicated prcedure such that reinstalling become easy.

But the guide given here is a very simple one which requires you only a windows 7 installing CD or USB and entering simple commands in the command prompt. And it will change the password as well as user name for you in fraction of minutes. The following guide works because of a bug in Windows 7 coding.

Thus you will not loose a single bit of data and your windows 7 is in your hands again.

The step by step procedure is as follows :

1. Insert Windows 7 installation disk into CD ROM and Restart your computer.
2. Enter into the boot menu and choose CD ROM as boot device.
3. Choose Repair your computer option when the installation begins.

4. Now select the Command Prompt option.

The command prompt will open. Now create a backup of sticky keys by entering following commands into command prompt.

copy c:windowssystem32sethc.exe c:

5. Now replace sticky keys with the Command Prompt by typing the following command

copy c:windowssystem32cmd.exe c:windowssystem32sethc.exe

6. Now Restart your computer.
7. When you get the windows login screen then hit Shift button for 5 times continuously and Administrative Mode of Command Prompt will be open.

8. Now to reset the password just type the following command

net user Username NewPassword

Remember: Username is the username of the computer and NewPassword is the password. Replace both as you wish.

Login in your computer system with your new Username and Password.

Now every time when you press Shift key for 5 times then command prompt will be open instead of Sticky keys. To get back these Sticky keys repeat first three steps and then in the command prompt window type the following command.

copy c:sethc.exe  c:windowssystem32sethc.exe.
